Put on your seat belt, because this journey has a lot of twists and turns.

Earlier this week, I was communing with Mary Jane and scrolling on Threads, when I came across an old paparazzi photo of Chris Brown choking a women during what seemed to be a heated moment, with the caption, “This is who you’re spending money on.”

Chris was making the headlines after announcing his joint tour with Usher, who has also been under the public’s watchful eye.

I understood the sentiment. The “can you separate the art from the artist” debate has been an ongoing discussion—although I would note that the leniency prompted in that discussion tends to skew in favor of abusive men, but that’s another conversation for another day…

There was a comment on the post that talked about how the abusive behavior of Taurus men (Chris Brown is a Taurus) isn’t talked about enough.

Now, I want to make it incredibly clear that any astrological hot take that only focuses on one placement when making a grand generalization (especially one like that) is inherently flawed, because that’s just not real. It’s also incredibly harmful.

However, was my interest piqued? Absolutely. But it was more so around the question of whether Chris’ Taurus placements were close to the fixed star, Algol (which sits at 26 degrees Taurus).

When I pulled up his chart, what drew me in was the story that was being revealed, which is what tends to happen in my sessions. I don’t necessarily focus on one placement or the traditional definition of what it means in your chart. I see the symbols dance in a way that uncovers a story, like a scroll being unfurled.

(That’s also why I sometimes hesitate to call myself an astrologer, because it is a science, and my approach is a little unconventional. Such is my life.)

I was seeing root wounds correlating to perhaps why he has this seeming disdain for women that shows up through physical abuse, and so I initially went back to Threads to post something along the lines of…

I told myself I would no longer read celebrity charts publicly unless they were sitting down across from me to receive it, because otherwise it felt invasive.

But posts I’ve been seeing about Chris Brown and his history of abuse led me to his birth chart, and I just want to let you know, the story that feeds this behavior is there. This is why shadow work is so important…

Blah, blah, blah. Something like that.

And it would’ve been totally sincere and true, because you know I believe in this work deeply, but that’s not what happened.

Because as I started to type what I initially wanted to say, another message was coming through that became a priority—and it was how our collective unconscious has been colonized.

I know. Quite the jump, right? I wish I could explain it in a way that makes sense, but when the light goes off, and I start to pull the thread (no pun intended), I end up in very interesting places.

So we come to the first sharp left of our journey.

Here’s what I actually ended up writing…

I told myself I would no longer read celebrity charts publicly unless they were sitting down across from me to receive it, because otherwise it felt invasive.

As someone who went to school for journalism, you get trained to perceive that type of behavior as part of the gig. You’re investigating a public figure, so it’s free game. Research and report.

You lose the humanity of it.

This energy signature is similar to soldiers preparing for war. They get perception training. It’s not called that, but that’s what’s happening, and it’s done in so many different spaces.

Perception training is necessary to carry out the objective.

In this case, dehumanization is planted within the lens of reality in order to manipulate a person’s morality, values, code of ethics. Otherwise they won’t embody the energy necessary to fulfill the job.

It’s interesting because my father is a former commander. We’ve had a very bumpy road together, but he’s also been one of my greatest teachers.

We’re completely opposite and yet the same. And this is an example of that.

We both fight for the truth, but our truths may be different.

We are both fiercely loyal, but sometimes to our detriment.

We questioned everything, except the systems we’d been indoctrinated into…

…which on its own, negates everything else we claim to value—but it makes sense.

When you place loyalty as a core value, questioning anything seems like betrayal. And if you are no longer “loyal,” you are a threat.

Again, another red flag on the play that gets dismissed.

If your loyalty is contingent on your blind obedience and compliance, you may wanna double check what you’re actually loyal to. Because now there’s a power imbalance.

You are no longer being of service to a cause (truth). You are serving an agenda (illusion).

I would always wonder what kind of perception training my father had to endure in order to do what was being asked of him. I think about that with a lot of people. And I realized that we are all constantly in perception training.

It’s called propaganda. And everything is propaganda.

So much of your identity was unconsciously shaped for you without your conscious awareness. From the moment you were born, there was already a story attached to you based on the system in place.

That’s crazy.

The truth is you are a limitless being whose energy signature can be expressed in an infinite number of ways. You are not confined to the story that you’ve always been handed, but when everything you’re told, taught, and shown is restricted to the same story…

It’s hard to truly believe otherwise. That’s the paradox.

You have to believe it to see it.

The perception training keeps the same narrative on loop so that nothing changes. Who gets to benefit from nothing changing? Those in power.

This is what I mean when I say we’ve been unconscious slaves to a system we don’t even notice running anymore. It’s become so integrated into our daily life, we don’t question it. We don’t check in to see if it actually aligns. We don’t check ourselves to see where we’ve contributed to the harm it upholds.

You have been fed a sense of “normalcy” that is anything but normal. You’ve become so loyal to the system that you’d rather rationalize it than question it.

My friend, you are not free.

Your consciousness was colonized. Your way of thinking, your values, your beliefs, your identity, your perception of the world that keeps it running on the same operating system.

Do you know why it’s always imperative to get to the root of the matter? Because that’s where you change the environment.

Y’all want the landscape to change without going underground to see where the rot needs to be pulled, and what seeds need to be planted.

This is the descension journey. Welcome.

You don’t build above ground until you have a firm foundation to build on, and our foundation as a collective entity is not solid. It has no stable roots.

So we need to tend to that first, and we’re already doing it.

Do not underestimate the ripple effect of your personal healing. You think choosing healthier habits, working through your limiting beliefs, and breaking free from generational trauma is just about you?

Babe, you’re one piece of a much bigger puzzle. You are the variable that changes everything.

You are the drop of the ocean that makes waves crash. You are the raindrop in a storm. You are the spark that creates light.

Shadow work is going to be of the utmost importance moving forward, because if you can’t integrate your shadow, you will continue to project it.

And those projections will keep feeding the karmic loops that run the system.

Just as a plant needs light and water to grow, you need light (awareness) and water (emotional alchemy) to grow, too.

It’s Hot Girl Math time!

On this week’s episode, we time travel back to 2019 to look at all of the cosmic clues that point us to the general energetic theme unfolding.

I have to admit, while editing this video, I was getting a lot of downloads (which I’ll share below), and I’m curious what comes up for you.

Two things that stood out to me as I was re-watching and editing:

1. I mention that 2019 saw the rise of Billie Eilish with her album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? That title felt oddly specific. Why didn’t she just call it Where Do We Go When We Fall Asleep? Considering this was released right before 2020, when the world collectively shut down (or fell asleep?) in order to travel to the Underworld (my opinion), it felt like a foreshadow of what was to come. Pair that with the fact that her hit single off the album was “Bad Guy,” a song all about power dynamics, manipulation and the shadow, and we’re now walking into interesting territory about how this particular instance may have been a huge clue into what we were stepping into. Remember, everything is hidden in plain sight.

2. The other stark realization is remembering just how many protests were occurring in 2019. Chile, Hong Kong, Lebanon, Bolivia, India, Nicaragua, and Russia were all exhibiting acts of resistance that year alone. And then 2020 happens. The download I got (which is going to sound conspiracy-adjacent) was that CERN was used to timeline jump into an alternate reality as an attempt to avoid what was already bubbling up. The people were fighting back. They didn’t want that. And yet here we are. What I heard was, “They can’t escape karma.”

Do with that what you will.

The year of 2017 was pivotal in my journey. I quit my corporate, safe job at E! (which I thought was my dream job) to pursue the very erratic and unstable life of being a freelance writer, and although it was terrifying, I was shown the reward of taking initiative.

Less than two months after I quit, a personal essay I pitched to Cosmo went viral, creating massive exposure and leading me to my first brand trip to Jamaica. I was able to invest more time and energy into The Problem With Dating, hosting events, creating merch, and even leading panels.

That year, I also entered a relationship that became a catalyst for my shadow work journey, and as you can imagine, that was a doozy (to say the least).

In 2017, I was shown what happens when I bet on myself, and learned how to take the first step forward even when I don’t know where I’m going, and even when I’m not sure which direction to take.

Interestingly enough, I feel the same this year. Maybe you resonate with some of that.

You think this fight is red or blue? None of that matters.

None of the identities that separate us actually matter, but we’re not ready to have that conversation.

You are fighting a number of energetic signatures that have merged into an entity that is attached to this experience. It is embedded in the very foundation of the world you’re living in.

You’re not fighting someone’s skin color, religious beliefs, political party or sexual preference.

You’re fighting someone’s spirit. The dark passengers that take control of their hosts and use them to their advantage—and that energy doesn’t discriminate.

We’ve always heard about “divide and conquer,” a tactic that has proven to be quite successful throughout time.

By utilizing physical descriptors as forms of “othering,” and feeding us narratives that support these mistruths, you become conditioned to see the world through a very particular lens.

And that lens will create your truths of yourself, your identity in this place, and of the world around you.

If you continue to believe that this is all you are, you will hold these labels on a pedestal, because you have convinced yourself that this is you. It’s all you got.

While your identity is absolutely important in this Universe and has value, it is not the totality of who you are.

It is a speck in the story of U.

A beautiful, magnificent speck, but still a speck.

You are here to give U a story. What does this character do? Who are they in the world? What’s the mark that they leave?

We are parts of a bigger whole, but when those parts remain fragmented, there’s no movement. No change. No forward progress.

We’re too busy fighting each other to see the real threat…

Just scattered energy. Everywhere and nowhere at once.

The entity that we have been fighting attaches to numerous people, regardless of identity, background or creed.

You can see it in the people around you, and if you’re brave enough, you can see it within yourself, too.

This world was created in order to experience ourselves outside of ourselves, but that has evolved into dangerous disconnection—one that will need to harmonize and balance out in order to alchemize the energy that perpetuates the harm we claim we want to heal.

This is how you fight back energetically.

Everyone tending to their own energy.

That’s how healing yourself heals the world. You’re part of it all, but are you doing your part?

We project and make our problems other people’s problems. We keep a safe distance between our awareness and the parts of ourselves we don’t want to see.

We keep the story alive so we can spiral through time, revolving around the same loops that are unwelcome yet familiar. Apathy.

This is why history keeps repeating itself. It’s one big loop that we continue to play into, because we don’t even realize we’re on the same ride.

But it’s a loop we must break.

Too many of us have forgotten, and we are at a time where it’s crucial to remember.

The way to break the loop is both complex and simple—look at yourself honestly for once in your life, and stop running.

Who have you become? What do you contribute to this world? What do you stand for?

Take inventory of your life and then take aligned action on what’s within your control.

You want closeness? Be vulnerable.
You want partnership? Practice forgiveness.
You want peace? Be honest.

What are your loops? Write them down.
What behaviors activate during those loops? Write them down.
What would the opposite energy look like? Write that down.

Then put it into action.

What we are experiencing historically right now requires unity more than ever, and unity is not everyone being the same or doing the same thing. It’s a harmonic dance between our unique differences. It’s compassion when judgement is easier. It’s seeking to understand more than you seek to be understood.

We are in the midst of a major change, and everyone’s role is different.

We can’t experience real change if it’s not rooted, which means you’ll need to navigate your own shadows to see where you feed the beast of illusion within your own life.

When you can heal that, you create a profound ripple within the world.

You matter in ways you never allowed yourself to believe.

This society doesn’t hate witchcraft. It hates wise women who know what to do with the gifts they’ve been given.

It hates being seen beneath the mask.

And yet, the unmasking has already begun.

This Valentine’s Day, let’s go beyond Venus and Mars to uncover the hidden love stories within your birth chart.

While planets and luminaries are strong markers of archetypes within your story, asteroids are also a great tool that often go unnoticed (until you realize they’re there, and now you’re going down a rabbit hole on Saturday night).

There are so many asteroids you can look up in your chart, and I do in fact spend a lot of my time interpreting their placements in my chart, so prepare to learn more about them.

Given the theme of today, I figured we can start with a few love asteroids.

These markers provide deeper insights into your romantic dynamics, soulmate connections, and karmic relationships (in synastry readings).

They’ll be especially potent in your chart if they make a tight orb (1-2 degrees) with a personal planet.

In order to do this, you’ll first need to pull up your birth chart. I recommend astro.com (astro.com > Charts & Calculations > Extended Chart Selection).

From there, you’ll input your birth information (and yes, birth time matters if you know it!), and scroll to the bottom where it says “Additional Objects.”

From there, you can either look up each asteroid under “Asteroid name/number list” or input the number associated with the asteroid in the Manual Entry box, separated by commas.

Here are some key ones to explore:

• Eros (433): Passion, erotic desire, and the magnetic pull between lovers. Where Eros lands in your chart reveals what ignites your deepest passions.

• Psyche (16): The soul’s longing for love and deep emotional connection. This asteroid sheds light on spiritual bonds and soulmate themes.

• Juno (3): Commitment, marriage, and the kind of partner you seek for long-term union. Juno’s placement can reveal your ideal partnership style.

• Amor (1221): Unconditional love and the ways you express affection beyond physical attraction.

• Vesta (4): Devotion, sacred love, and where you focus your inner fire in relationships.

• Sappho (80): Artistic expression, sensuality, and relationships, particularly those involving the same sex. It can indicate how one expresses creativity and experiences love and desire.

• Aphrodite (1388): How one expresses love, experiences beauty, and connects with others on an emotional and sensual level.

When you’re looking these up in your chart, there are a few things you’ll want to consider:

• What sign is it in?

• What house is it in?

• Is it touching anything in my chart?

That’s when you start doing your hot girl math (energy math) and learn more about its expression by taking the energy of the sign with the area of life (house placement) and any conjunctions (touching anything within 1 to 2 degrees) into consideration.

This may seem overwhelming at first, but if you’re a nerd like me, it can quickly become your next hyperfixation.

Before I was a mystic, a coach, or someone who holds space for others, I was a woman trying to understand why I kept repeating the same emotional and relational patterns despite having all the language, insight, and self-awareness to explain them.

What I discovered—first in myself, and later in my work with others—is something most personal growth spaces don’t name clearly…

Insight alone does not dissolve emotional loops.

I thought that if I could just understand my patterns deeply enough, and analyze them until they nearly disintegrated, that would be enough. Things would magically change, and I’d be smooth sailing into calmer territory.

Life has humbled me more times than I’d like to admit.

What happened instead was a stark realization: understanding your trauma does not automatically rewire how your nervous system responds. And awareness, while powerful, has a ceiling.

An emotional loop is not a failure of healing. It’s a sign that something in you is still organized around an old version of safety.

The shame of feeling stuck when you think you’re supposed to be “further along” can feel quite defeating, so I created this free audio teaching and worksheet to help you.

One of my favorite gatherings is back by popular demand!

Join me for an evening of mystical self-inquiry in Burbank, Calif., on Wednesday, January 7, where we’ll gather under the energy of the Cancer Full Moon to explore the inner tides that shape us.

This workshop blends shadow work, tarot, and creative writing to help us meet the parts of ourselves we often protect, bury, or overlook.

Together, we’ll work with three reflective prompts aligned to the lunar themes of Cancer—home, emotional truth, ancestral memory, and the heart’s hidden defenses.

For each prompt, you’ll pull a card and write a reflective (perhaps poetic!) response, allowing intuition and imagination to become the bridges between insight and expression.

No writing experience is necessary. Bring your curiosity, your deck (or pull from one of ours), and a willingness to be surprised by what rises from within.

As we move into the final stretch of 2025, it feels like we’re collectively standing at the end of a long cycle—one that kicked off around 2016—and are being asked to reflect…

What have we learned? What outlived its purpose? What are we ready to bring with us into what’s next, and what needs to stay behind?

In numerology, 2025 is the final chapter of a nine-year cycle.

Nine is about completion, reckoning, healing, and harvesting—the summation of what you started nearly a decade ago. And whether you felt that thread consciously or unconsciously, this last cycle has had a powerful throughline.

When I look back at the pathway we’ve walked since 2016, the theme that echoes most clearly for me is self-love.

In 2016, we were faced with a fork in the road: will we choose ourselves or continue down a path unconsciously chosen through expectation and an identity that we may have outgrown?

Somewhere between 2017–2019, many of us embarked on a path that required us to face our hidden wounds, our innermost fears, and the humbling reminder that perhaps we still have work to do before embodying the version of ourselves that can sustain the life we claim we want.

The years after that called us into the Underworld—an initiation into the deepest shadows of our psyche in order to uncover our unconscious habits, patterns and behaviors that keep us stuck in an unconscious loop of familiar yet disappointing dynamics.

And now, we’re harvesting the fruits of that work: clarity, self-trust, inner sovereignty, and deeper alignment.

This cycle wasn’t about chasing illusionary ideals—it was about coming home to ourselves. And if you’ve survived, learned, expanded, healed—you’ve done sacred work.

So as this “9-year” closes, let’s honor how far we’ve come, and gently thank the parts of us that felt broken, the parts that got bruised, the parts that finally learned what safety feels like—and let them rest.

I love weaving in the Chinese zodiac as another lens for this transition.

Right now (through February 16, 2026) we are in the Wood Snake year. The Wood Snake brings quiet wisdom, introspection, transformation, and the ability to shed old skins. It doesn’t demand loud action—it invites subtle inner work, resourcefulness, and deep alignment.

A time to survey your inner landscape, clear what no longer belongs, and trust the quiet unfolding inside.

As 2026 begins, this energy promises momentum, outward movement, passion, bold action, and blazing new trails.

Use these last months of Wood Snake energy to rest, align, and center. When Fire Horse kicks in, you’ll be ready to move with intention, grounded in self-love and clarity.

Hold Space for Mystery + Intuition
Cycles don’t always follow linear time. Sometimes healing shows up when a wound finally dissolves, or when a decision becomes clear only after everything slows down. Trust that time and reflection—not force—will reveal what’s next.
