The Details for Costa Rica Are Here!
For real this time.
Thank you guys so much for your patience.
As you probably already know, I made a last-minute switch for the Costa Rica itinerary, which caused some obvious delays as we worked towards finalizing new details and location.
Regardless, I gotta tell you that I am so excited for this retreat, because this itinerary was my top choice, so I’m incredibly happy that I didn’t care about being annoying, and followed my intuition to ask again about it’s availability. Shout out to the throat chakra and solar plexus activation.
OK, so there’s obviously a lot of information to be shared, and I’ve been covering a lot of FAQs on Instagram Stories, which you can recap through my RTS Retreat Highlight Reel here, but I wanted to tell you the big stuff now…
Here’s the nitty-gritty of what you can expect for the 2023 Return to Self Retreat in Costa Rica!
Where are we going? We’ll be spending 7 days in Guanacaste’s beautiful Playa Hermosa in Costa Rica, snuggled between the rapidly developing Gulf of Papagayo to the north and lively Playa del Coco to the south.
When are we going? This trip will be the same dates as the original itinerary: April 29 to May 5, 2023.
What will we be doing? The excursions for this trip will be different than before. Instead of spending time traveling to different cities and have to pack up and hit the road every few days, we’re going to stay at the beach to provide you a week of stress-free relaxation. My intention for this trip is for travelers to feel at peace and move with ease.
Still, we’re going to have amazing experiences! With this retreat, we’ll be ziplining through the tropics, going on a coffee tour to learn about the world famous Costa Rican coffee (and perhaps have our own little Morning Bru session), learn how to make and enjoy some savory empanadas, learn about the seasonal tropical fruits and get educated on the sacred cacao, which will also include a tasting. Additionally, we’ll be going on a sunset boat ride along the coast, where you’ll have the opportunity to take a dip in the ocean, chill on the beach or just enjoy the views from the boat before enjoying a catered dinner.
I’ll still be conducting soul-gazing and intuition workshops, optional morning meditations on the beach, a Holy Fire Reiki Healing Experience and a full moon reading and ceremony on the beach.
Where will we be staying? I’m super excited to share that we’ll be staying at the gorgeous Bosque Del Mar Hotel, a beachfront property with breathtaking views and amazing service.
How much will this cost? We will offer 10 early bird spots at $2,250 and 10 regular spots at $2,400.
What does that include? That includes all of the excursions and accommodations included in the itinerary (and lodging), workshops & healing experiences, a shuttle to and from the airport (assuming you arrive during the window of time it’s available) and almost all meals (some meals are not included to encourage exploring the cities and trying different spots). A more detailed breakdown of the itinerary will be available once the trip page launches on Friday!
What does that not include? Your payment does not cover any passport or visa fees you may need, anything you choose to eat or purchase outside of what’s already included, and your flight. I know that sometimes having flights not included can feel like a bummer, but I actually think it’s great, and I’ll tell you why…
First, you’re not limited to a set price or time for the flight, so if you wanted to set up an alert for deals, you can purchase whatever works best for your budget (and your schedule). You’ll also be able to use travel miles if you have them, and should you choose to extend your trip and hop around Central America before or after the retreat, you have the option to do so!
The great thing is that since we know the dates ahead of time, you can snag some roundtrip flights for around $300-$400 depending on your location and the time. We’ll be flying in and out of Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica, which is roughly 10 minutes from our hotel. Whoever is booked for this retreat will be included in a group chat, which will also help travelers travel together if that’s something you’d like to do.
It is also highly encouraged to purchase traveler’s insurance, and I recommend getting one that has a COVID clause, because hi.
You do not need to be vaccinated to go on this trip. You will need to test negative up to 72 hours prior to the trip (more details on this in another post).
Do I have to pay all at once? Absolutely not. You can if that’s an option, but in order to hold your spot, you just need to pay a 25% down-payment. From there, you can pay as you go, as long as the full trip is paid for 60 days prior to our start date, or financing through TrovaTrip’s partnership with Affirm if you’d like more time to pay-off the trip. You can find a lot more information on your payment options here.
What is the cancellation policy? It varies depending on how close to the trip it is. You can find the breakdown and more information on booking here.
Is it safe? As with any travel, you always want to be conscious of your surroundings, but yes! Part of the reason I chose to partner with TrovaTrip is their priority to safe travel through ethical tourism. Additionally, we’ll have our own local guide with us the entire time to help us navigate each city, let us know what spots to check out, help us out when our Spanish sucks and make sure we’re not venturing into anything that we might regret.
Is it just for women? No, anyone is invited to come! Sleeping arrangements will be made for everyone’s comfort, so if you decide you’d rather have a solo room, you will have that option upon booking for an additional fee. Otherwise, once your payment has been made, travelers will take a short roommate survey to help decide who they’ll be bunking with, unless you’re traveling with someone (then you can obviously room with them).
Make sure you’ve signed up here to get the notification in your inbox once this trip is live on Friday!
Can’t wait to explore Costa Rica with you, xo.
