The Rise of Sacred Masculinity
Sacred masculinity understands that true power comes from a place of love and security.
Sacred masculinity—what is it, how do we cultivate it and how do we support it?
For the last few years, you may have seen the uproar of toxic masculinity, a conversation that was uncomfortable, often debated and long overdue (in my humble opinion). The dialogue around toxic masculinity definitely ruffled some feathers with men who felt that the conversation was skewed to simply labeling masculinity as toxic, which is not the case.
Toxic masculinity highlights widely accepted “traits” of masculinity that are actually toxic behavior. It challenged what it meant to “be a man” in a way that questioned where those beliefs actually came from. And in all honesty, that upheaval needed to happen to create space for what we’re trying to remember and cultivate: sacred masculinity.
Sacred masculinity, sometimes also referred to as Divine Masculine, is the man who is arising with an understanding that all life is sacred at his core. A principle of the sacred masculine is that of unity, and this is primarily about the union of the divine masculine and feminine energies within him. This is a man who values life, who leads without aggression or force, and who understands that true power comes from a place of love and security.
Now, while we all have divine masculine and divine feminine energies within us, for this purpose, I’m focusing on those who identify as male. It’s been a goal of mine to create a safe space for men to heal, because as a woman, I’ve seen how blessed we are to have friendships, sisterhood circles and even public events that promote vulnerability, transparency, and emotion. Men need those spaces, too.
So, it is with great excitement and gratitude that I share our February Wellness Webinar: Sacred Masculinity with Jose Alejandro on 2/28 at 11 am PST on Zoom.
Jose Alejandro, a mentor of men and co-founder of Modern Renaissance Man, will explore the meaning of sacred masculinity, and the energetic shift that allows men to access deep emotions while not being defined by them, what it means to be an open-hearted warrior, how to embrace uncertainty and consciously hold all sides of the equation, while taking steps forward with effectiveness, and what it means to embody our truth and cultivate non-reactive conscious energy, so we can make an intentional impact in the world.
While this webinar is focusing on masculinity, I invite everyone to join, because the fact of the matter is we all have men in our lives that we care about, and while it is their responsibility to face their shadow and do the work, it is also our responsibility to show up in healthy ways so they know they’re loved and supported on this journey.
It’s all a collaborative effort, so sign up below, and let’s learn how to love each other back to our divinity together.
