If you’re anything like me, personality tests and the like really fascinate you. The ability to learn more about yourself in different ways is—to put it simply—cool, especially when these tools reveal aspects of yourself you thought were just a quirky trait of yours.
We’ve already discussed natal charts with astrology and the Myers-Briggs personality types, so today I really wanted to focus on Human Design.
If you’ve watched any of my recent IG stories, or attended the Virgo New Moon IG Live last night, you’ve already heard me talk about Human Design.
It’s come up for me a lot in the last five years or so, but I didn’t really dive into it until my Sedona trip earlier this year when I met an incredible new friend named Max, who loves talking about Human Design. He helped me pull up my chart and then shared some basic insight as to what I was looking at, and it blew me away.
Now, I’ll be transparent, I’m not going to get into the nitty gritty here, because that would take all week. But I will give you the basics, and the resources to dive deeper if you’d like.
So, the obvious question—what is Human Design? Human Design is a holistic self-knowledge system combining astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah and Vedic philosophy. Human Design was originated by Alan Robert Krakower, who published a book called The Human Design System under the pseudonym Ra Uru Hu in 1992.
Much like your birth chart, Human Design operates off of your birth date, birth time and birth location.
The first thing you’ll learn is which of the five energy types you are:
Manifestor: the fire starter
Manifesting Generator: the multi-hyphenate
Generator: the life force
Projector: the seer
Reflector: the shape-shifter
Learning your energy type alone will open a number of doors to understanding your optimal performance and how you work best. For example, I’m a Projector, and as a Projector, I’m really good at seeing how things can be done more efficiently. I’m not meant to work, work, work (contrary to my double Capricorn placement). I’m best when I’m able to come in, see what needs tweaking, sharing those insights, and then dipping, and that’s because as a Projector, I’m more equipped at noticing things that most don’t.
Additionally, your Human Design chart can tell you how your specific intuition works, what your personality is, your unique way of eating, manifesting, and so much more.
For me, that was huge confirmation that I’m on the right path, because my chart talked all about emotional intuition, following my gut, and being a leader. It also confirmed that I’m not weird for preferring room temperature or cold foods over hot foods, it’s just part of my human design!
At this point, I’m sure you’re wondering what your chart says about you.
You can find out your Human Design chart for free here, and if you want more guidance and insight, I highly recommend getting the My Human Design app that just launched.
Enjoy!
This blew my mind. Makes so much sense. I’m speechless
