So many moons in such a short time, ey?
Depending on your time zone, January has been jam-packed with moon rituals. We had the New Moon in Capricorn right at the beginning of the month, the Cancer Full Moon recently, and now the Aquarius New Moon.
This new moon is technically February 1 at 12:45 am EST, so for those of us on the other side of the country, the New Moon will occur late in the evening of January 31.
Regardless, before I get into this moon, let me properly welcome Aquarius season and do a shout out to all of the lovely Aquarians! This is also a great time to remind you that Aquarius is not a water sign. It’s an air sign. Common misconception given the name.
Unlike their sister sign Leo, who tends to focus on Self, Aquarius is all about the collective. Aquarians care more about humanity and the role we all play in the big picture.
Interestingly enough, Aquarius is ruled by both Saturn and Uranus, the past and the future, and as you can imagine, that can be a challenging aspect. This might be a time of building something new that may shock others, and not out of rebellion (which is sometimes an Aquarian’s motive), but because it works. There’s logic behind it, but may be too innovative for some to accept.
This is also a time where we can focus on our social life, make new friends and expand our social arena to bring in new business opportunities. An Aquarius New Moon can create positive change in our social lives and ensure that group projects and endeavors yield fruitful results.
This is a perfect time to plan giving back to the community, advocating social causes and using your influence for the greater good.
Something else to look forward to is Mercury will station direct (meaning it will no longer be in retrograde) shortly after this new moon, on February 3.
Now, for those of you who’ve done these New Moon rituals, you know what to do. If you haven’t, here’s the necessary information you need to move forward.
Unlike the full moon ritual, where you set intentions on what you want to release and burn your list, new moon rituals are what you want to manifest and bring in. There will be no burning.
What you will need is a completely unused notebook (if you already have a New Moon journal, you’ll use that same one for this ritual). There cannot be any pages used or torn out. This will become your new moon journal and can only be used for new moon intentions. Once you’ve decided which new notebook you’ll dedicate to your new moon intentions, you’ll consecrate, or pray, over the journal.
Put your right hand over the journal, and say to your higher self, "I dedicate this journal to manifesting my new moon intentions." Boom. Done. You only need to do this once. Again, it’s super important that you don’t use this notebook for anything else!
Now, remember that when you write your intentions, you don’t want to use phrases like “I will,” “I want,” “I wish,” etc. as that will only manifest the longing for whatever you put down. Make definitive statements when phrasing your intentions: "I am," "I have," "I manifest," "I transform," "I create," "I make," "I attract."
The Aquarius New Moon is late Monday evening/early Tuesday morning, so you can do your ritual anytime between this Saturday and next Sunday-ish (general rule is 3 days before and after).
You can write whatever intentions you’d like, but here are some optional intentions you can use that align with the Aquarius New Moon energy (c/o @mysticxlipstick):
My position in society is in perfect alignment with the highest good of my vision and purpose.
I am aligned with the social networks that are in perfect sync with my purpose and career goals.
I easily attract business opportunities and business growth through my social standing.
I attract and maintain healthy, supportive and mutually beneficial friendships and social connections.
I transform all unhealthy patterns, dynamics and ways of relating in my friendships and social connections.
I attract friendships that are authentic and transparent.
I attract like-minded individuals in alignment with my goals to help the community with (insert cause).
I attract connections that support my passion for (insert cause).
I have the funding and opportunities I need to reach the people who need my assistance.
Once you’re done writing your intentions, seal it with the following clause: "I give thanks to the Universe for all of these intentions fully manifesting in perfect alignment with my highest good. So it is."
Now, put your notebook away until next month’s new moon, and trust that the intentions you’ve written down are already being manifested for the highest good of all involved.
I’ll be on IG Live Monday evening, January 31, with your Aquarius New Moon reading at 5 pm PST. Make sure to set a reminder!
Have a beautiful rest of your week, and as always, take care of yourself.
