Whether you spend New Year’s cozied up to your favorite movie or drowning in a flute of champagne, this year isn’t wasting any time when it comes to presenting our first New Moon of 2022.
We’ll experience the first New Moon of the year in Capricorn on Sunday, January 2.
Before we dive into the ritual for this moon, let’s take a moment to give ourselves a round of applause and praise for putting 2021 to bed. These last two years have been a lot.
If your experience was anything like mine, 2020 broke you open. 2021 showed you what needed to heal. And now, 2022 will be our chance to see the fruits of our labor.
So with that said, this new moon is asking you—How are you different? How are you the same? Are you ready to embody and act on all of the ways in which you’ve transformed?
As a Capricorn Queen, I can tell you that the energy of this moon is all about structure, discipline, responsibility, goal-setting, resourcefulness and ambition, and not in a stuffy way.
Capricorn is an Earth sign, so this is about taking all of those ideas and dreams, and bridging the gap to making it a reality, because nothing happens when you stay circling in ambition and intention. You need action.
This is about planting, nourishing and harvesting. This is when you create the foundation for which your goals are built on.
The Capricorn New Moon is asking you to take responsibility for the life you’ve always wanted. It’s asking if you’re ready to put any excuses you may have piled up over time to the side, so that you can finally set the structure and boundaries needed in order to achieve your goals.
We’ll also be receiving some helpful energy from Uranus, which is a planet of liberation and awakening. So, by all means, aim high! Uranus is reminding you not to play small and restrict yourself when it comes to the life you see for yourself.
This New Moon will also fall under Venus in Retrograde in Capricorn, as well, so relationship insights, as well as revelations surrounding self-love and self-worth, may be highlighted.
Mercury will soon follow Venus, going retrograde on January 14.
Now, for those of you who’ve done these New Moon rituals, you know what to do. If you haven’t, here’s the necessary information you need to move forward.
Unlike the full moon ritual, where you set intentions on what you want to release and burn your list, new moon rituals are what you want to manifest and bring in. There will be no burning.
What you will need is a completely unused notebook (if you already have a New Moon journal, you’ll use that same one for this ritual). There cannot be any pages used or torn out. This will become your new moon journal and can only be used for new moon intentions. Once you’ve decided which new notebook you’ll dedicate to your new moon intentions, you’ll consecrate, or pray, over the journal.
Put your right hand over the journal, and say to your higher self, "I dedicate this journal to manifesting my new moon intentions." Boom. Done. You only need to do this once. Again, it’s super important that you don’t use this notebook for anything else!
Now, remember that when you write your intentions, you don’t want to use phrases like “I will,” “I want,” “I wish,” etc. as that will only manifest the longing for whatever you put down. Make definitive statements when phrasing your intentions: "I am," "I have," "I manifest," "I transform," "I create," "I make," "I attract."
The Capricorn New Moon is Sunday, so you can do your ritual anytime between Thursday and Wednesday.
You can write whatever intentions you’d like, but here are some optional intentions you can use that align with the Capricorn New Moon energy (c/o @mysticxlipstick):
I make my transition into (insert career change) with financial, mental and emotional ease.
I have all the resources, time and ability to transition into (insert career change) that I need to be completely successful and prosperous.
I reach my full potential in the (insert career goal) field.
My (insert career) manifests more money than I can spend.
I attract investors for (insert business endeavor) that are in perfect alignment with the highest good of all involved.
I attract career and business endeavors with ease.
I am completely safe materially, energetically, financially, emotionally and psychologically.
My conscious and unconscious mind are in perfect alignment with my highest good to create and maintain stability in every area and aspect of my life.
I have more than enough money, time and resources to feel and be completely secure in every aspect of my life.
My existence and reality fully supports material, emotional, physical and psychological security in every aspect of my life.
(For Fathers): My relationship with (insert child’s name) is healthy, loving and in perfect alignment with the highest good of all involved.
I am healed from all trauma and unhealthy programs I've internalized from all authority figures in my life.
I have a healthy relationship with authoritative structures and figures.
My public image and persona is in perfect alignment with my career goals and purpose.
I intuitively make the most lucrative and beneficial decisions regarding my public image and persona.
I have the focus and discipline needed to reach my full potential in (insert career).
I have a healthy relationship with self-control and self-discipline.
Once you’re done writing your intentions, seal it with the following clause: "I give thanks to the Universe for all of these intentions fully manifesting in perfect alignment with my highest good. So it is."
Now, put your notebook away until next month’s new moon, and trust that the intentions you’ve written down are already being manifested for the highest good of all involved.
