Your Sagittarius Full Moon Ritual
Welcome to the first lunar eclipse of the year.
This isn’t your regular schmegular full moon, lemme tell ya.
Tonight’s Sagittarius Full Moon is also the first (total lunar) eclipse of the year and a super moon, meaning it has the power to set us on a completely new trajectory.
The Sagittarius Full Moon is usually a time to release anything that is standing in the way of your freedom and expansion. Sagittarius tends to usher in enlightenment, recognition and mobility in areas of your life where you have felt stifled, stagnant, and complacent.
Pair that with a total lunar eclipse in the South Node, and you’re in for quite a ride. Don’t be frightened though. This is a good period to break down barriers to build a new life. As Anais Nin wonderfully said, “In chaos, there is fertility.”
Instead of fearing this time and what it might bring (or break down), approach it with a sense of shedding and cleansing. What is no longer yours will be stripped from you. Old ways of being must die in order to cultivate growth of new beginnings. Place it all down, and let it go.
This is a time to shift mindsets and paradigms that have become limited and are no longer serving you and your highest good. While they may have served a purpose once upon a time, perhaps as a tool to survive and remain safe, you are now in a place of expanding your territory in every way so that continued growth, abundance and alignment is available to you.
Sagittarius can also be associated with fame and good fortune due to its ruler Jupiter. So while brainstorming your intentions, observe what ways you might be blocking the recognition you deserve for your hard work. Maybe it’s time to release that, too. Eclipses are a time of illuminating the hidden truth. While this energy can be volatile and turbulent for some, its gifts are beneficial as they are the harbingers of change and usher in evolution.
Still, because of the chaotic and unpredictable energy, it’s advised not to charge your crystals under an eclipse as they will absorb that energy, too. Additionally, a ritual of cleansing and releasing (such as this one) to clear space is fine, but eclipses are not the time to manifest or do any ritual work on what you want to bring in to your life.
As I’ve mentioned, with Full Moon rituals, we release. We do this by writing down intentions on what we’re releasing and burning the paper (safely) to transmute the energy. You can write any intentions you want, but I’ve included some below that align with the energy of the Sagittarius Full Moon to get you started.
Please make sure to write your intentions in present tense. No “I will” or “I want” or “I’m going to,” as these phrases set the intention on the longing for whatever you’re releasing, instead of the actual release.
Once you’re done writing your intentions, it is very important to include the full closing clause at the end, written by one of my favorite astrologers Danielle Ayoka.
Sagittarius Full Moon Intentions (written on a piece of paper that you will burn afterwards):
I release all mindsets that are limiting my ability to be fully autonomous.
I release all modes of operation and beliefs that have created complacency and stagnation in (whatever area you’ve noticed this in).
I release all beliefs, trauma and states of existing that blocks others to fully recognize my efforts and hard work.
I release all outdated ways of thinking creating unhealthy belief systems regarding my spiritual path.
I release all ways of being and trauma creating unhealthy belief system.
I release any trauma, beliefs and modes of operation blocking me from feeling motivated.
I release all blocks that are causing me to feel physically lethargic and unmotivated.
Closing Clause:
I release all implants, imprints, templates, thought forms, frequencies, energetic agreements, karma, trauma, chords, vibrations and patterns that resonate with the energy associated with my intentions on every layer of my existence, and out of all my chakras, major and minor, all layers of my aura, all of my subtle bodies of energy, my higher and lower self, ego, consciousness and awareness. I declare all these things to be so and in perfect alignment with my greatest and highest good. So it is.
After the clause, burn the paper safely and feel the energy leaving your body. Some of these intentions are heavy, so please make sure to rest and drink water afterwards. Physical symptoms may arise. The process of moving energy is different for everyone.
