How’s this for a super contradicting read?
I meeeeean, we have one card saying Baby Steps, another saying Jump In, and the last card saying Wait. I had to laugh.
Before I dive in, I hope you guys had a restful weekend. I know, both from personal experience and from chatting with some of you on IG, that this last week has been extremely heavy. This Aries New Moon was different, and it definitely brought up some lingering wounds that needed to be acknowledged and purged.
With that said, welcome to a new week. I hope this week treats you gently, and allows you to enjoy the present moment instead of being haunted by the past.
Now, let’s get into the cards.
Given the way the cards came out and the mixed messages, my intuition is telling me that there are two separate messages here. The first being for those who resonate with Baby Steps and Jump In, and the second being for those who resonate with Wait.
The tricky part here is you have to listen to your intuition to know which message is for you (yay, we love intuition practice!). Remember that when you do this, you’re looking for what you’re feeling in your body and in your heart. If it’s starting and ending in your head, that’s not your intuition, those are your fears and/or ego.
So, for group one, you’re being asked to fully trust and surrender to the path that’s being presented to you. For some, I feel like this involves travel and/or work of some kind. Perhaps you’ll be traveling for work, or perhaps you’ll be moving from one job to another. There’s an opportunity arising for you and the Universe is nudging you to take it. I feel like many of you who resonate with this message are highly analytical and that’s where the hesitancy comes in. You want to make sure that you don’t fail and fall on your ass. Well, that’s a very logical thing to do, but at some point, that logic becomes another form of resistance to doing the scary thing you’re being asked to do.
You’re not always going to know the outcome, but you know deep inside of you if this is the move you need to be making. So trust yourself that no matter what happens, you’ll land on your feet, because you are more than capable.
For group two, I’m feeling a lot of impatience. This feels more directed towards a relationship or some sort of communication. There’s a part of you that’s like, “WTF am I even waiting for?” and perhaps your trigger fingers are ready to shoot a snarky text. The cards are asking you to pause. It’s very easy for us, especially in vulnerable situations or relationships, to fill in the blanks with our story. Remember our story is the narrative we cling to in our minds that is usually fueled by our insecurities and wounds. We see through a manipulated lens that makes every experience turn out to be what we fear, so that we get this cruel confirmation of, “See. I told you that would happen.”
Yeah, boo, because that’s what you willed to be.
There’s a very interesting concept called The Law of Paradoxical Intent, and many of us can fall into this practice without realizing it. When we desire something so much, it can turn to desperation, and that desperation will attract what we don’t want instead of what we do.
“The Law of Paradoxical Intent reflects the Law of Magnetism in warning that you'll only get a return of your own negative energy. If you're desperate to make something happen, that repulsive vibration will push it away, turning away the very people and situations that might bring your desired outcome. Your desperation, therefore, creates the paradox-or the opposite-of your original intention, leading you to failure instead of success.”
When you're obsessed with what you don't have, you draw even more lack; you forego present contentment by setting up a list of goals that you have to have in order to be happy in the future.
So whether you resonate with the Wait card or not, put this in your back pocket—be happy now. Throw away the idea that some thing, person, job, goal or whatever it is that you think you need is the key to finally being happy. It’s a distraction. Find the things in your life now that lend to your happiness. And if you can’t, then you know where the work begins.
The Wait card is not asking you to sit around twiddling your thumbs. It’s telling you that things are happening in the unseen. There’s a reason for Divine Timing. Does that mean you put everything on pause until it happens? Fuck no. You live your life. You follow the pings. You make decisions based on what you want instead of what could happen if this thing happens. Live in the now, and watch as everything aligns in a way you could have only dreamed of.
Xo.
This week’s Return to Self podcast guest is a package deal!
I spoke with Good Moms, Bad Choices podcast hosts Milah and Erica, two uncensored, cannabis and sex-positive single moms who are out here breaking any type of societal limitations on what a “good mom” should be like.
We talk about their individual spiritual journeys, and how they’ve chosen to navigate spirituality with their children in a way that leaves it open for the kids to choose.
Thank you to everyone who took some time out to leave 5 stars and a review for the podcast. I appreciate it more than you know!
If you’re loving the podcast, let the public know what it is here.
Have a beautiful week!
Oh man the magic just came through with this reading. I wasn’t sure which message was for me it felt like it could be either one. I didn’t want to read it before I felt a connection. So I was listening to music on Pandora and I was going to switch the playlist to mediation to see if it will help me out and it accidentally clicked on Bob Marley a song that popped in my head was I don’t want to wait in vain. And than Bam that song played I was like Ohh...WAIT is my message and once I read it, it totally resonated with me.
Thank you Bruna
Usually I read the message then look at the cards. Today I looked at the cards a died laughing reading your first sentence lol. "Jump In" resonated with my analytical self
