Exploring the Waldemath Lilith Point (Dark Moon Lilith) in Your Birth Chart
Do you know your deepest, darkest shadow?
As many of you know, when it comes to shadow work and our repressed Self within astrology, Lilith is where it’s at.
What some may not know (or be aware of) is that there are multiple Lilith points in astrology, with each of them reflecting something slightly different within your birth chart.
During my shadow chart readings and astrology insights, I tend to focus on Black Moon Lilith (h13), but a lesser-known yet potent astrological point that also offers substantial insight into your shadow is the Waldemath Lilith, also known as Dark Moon Lilith (h58).
(The code in parenthesis is what to input in astro.com in order to see where this point is in your chart.)
This mysterious point has a significant influence in astrology, especially in areas of hidden emotions, shadow work, and the exploration of our darker and more subconscious desires.
Since you know that’s the playground I love to frequent, I figured we can discuss what Waldemath Lilith represents, its influence on our charts, and interpretations for its placement in each zodiac sign.
What is the Waldemath Lilith?
Waldemath Lilith, or Dark Moon Lilith, is one of three points associated with Lilith in astrology (the others being Black Moon Lilith and the Asteroid Lilith).
Waldemath Lilith is considered an astronomical anomaly rather than a solid celestial body, representing the lunar apogee, which is the point farthest from the Earth in the Moon’s orbit.
In mythology, Lilith is a figure of rebellion, independence, and raw feminine power, often associated with the untamed and hidden aspects of the Self. While Black Moon Lilith is the more commonly known Lilith point in astrology, the Waldemath Lilith is subtler and more complex.
It highlights the shadow side of the feminine within everyone—showing where we harbor unconscious fears, desires, and emotional intensity that we may struggle to integrate into our conscious lives.
The Influence of Waldemath Lilith
In the natal chart, Waldemath Lilith points to where we might experience the invisible undercurrents of our emotions, such as suppressed anger, fears of rejection, and deep-seated feelings of inadequacy or powerlessness. It reveals the areas where we tend to hide parts of ourselves, where we face our darkest inner conflicts, or where we may project unresolved emotions onto others.
When activated by transit or aspect, Waldemath Lilith brings these hidden energies to the surface, prompting shadow work and the need to reconcile with the more primal aspects of our psyche.
It can illuminate the psychological battles we face and help us break free from patterns of emotional repression, allowing us to access a more authentic and empowered version of ourselves.
Waldemath Lilith in Each Zodiac Sign
Waldemath Lilith in Aries
When Waldemath Lilith is in Aries, you may struggle with repressed anger and a fear of asserting yourself. This placement can manifest as either overcompensating by being overly aggressive or, on the other hand, avoiding confrontation out of fear of rejection. It encourages you to find healthy outlets for expressing anger and to embrace your independence and leadership qualities without guilt.
Shadow Work: Embrace your right to take initiative without fear of being judged for it.
