Karmic Connections: Relationship Themes
Learn more about the major themes and roles being played out within karmic relationships.
Welcome to the next installment of our Karmic Connections series, based on late astrologer Judy Hall’s book of the same name.
In our previous posts, we’ve discussed the various types of relationship karma, why certain souls choose to reincarnate at the same time, and now, we’ll be diving deeper into the various relationship themes that can arise through these karmic connections.
According to Hall, “Karmic relationships fall into two distinct types: those where there has been previous personal interaction between the parties concerned and so the agenda has been created by the two people in the relationship; and those where the leitmotiv did not arise between the two people in the past, but formed part of their separate, individual or collective experiences.”
To put it simply—karmic relationships are usually either carried over from past experiences together or formed because of a collective theme that was individually experienced.
Hall believes the major themes and roles being played out within relationships include:
Unconditional Love
Freedom/Commitment
Parent/Child
Power
Victim/Martyr/Rescuer/Savior
Dependence/Collusion v. Unconditional Love
Betrayer/Betrayed/Scapegoat
Seducer/Seduced
Debts/Obligations/Guilt
Fear/Antipathy
Reparation
Mutual Growth
In the following weeks, I’ll be expanding on each of the karmic relationship themes above based on Hall’s perspective, as well as sharing the astrological indicators that she believes helps show the theme at play within the birth charts.
